The halls of St. Wenceslaus School were buzzing with excitement as the 8th grade students from all five classes came together to host their First Annual Business Fair—a hands-on showcase of creativity, entrepreneurship, and real-world math skills!

Over the course of several weeks, students became young business owners. Each individual or team chose a product or service to sell, developed a company name and logo, and designed a trifold poster board to advertise their business. Their displays featured colorful visuals, pricing, product details, and even mission statements that explained what set their business apart.

Some of the creative and impressive business ideas included:
- Baked goods like cookies, cupcakes, and brownies
- 3D printed items, designed and printed by the students themselves
- Handmade jewelry and accessories
- Candles in custom scents and containers
- Lawn mowing services
- Personalized poems written on the spot or ahead of time
- Dog walking services for families in the community

But launching a business took more than just a good idea. Students learned key concepts in financial literacy and business planning:
- They created a budget and determined startup costs.
- Using receipts, they tracked total expenses.
- After the event, they calculated their total revenue, net profit, and profit margin.
- They also used percentages to figure out a 10% tithe, which they were encouraged to give as an offering to the church—connecting their business efforts to their faith.

The big event was a huge success! Parents, teachers, and staff were invited to the Business Fair and showed up in great numbers to support the students. Tables were beautifully arranged, and students practiced real-world skills like public speaking, customer service, and money management as they sold their goods and services.

By the end of the fair, each student had not only learned about marketing and math—they had gained confidence, pride in their hard work, and a glimpse into the world of entrepreneurship.

Congratulations to the 8th grade class of St. Wenceslaus on launching such a successful and inspiring first Business Fair. With your talent and drive, the future looks bright—and full of possibilities!
